Why
should I release doves at my special occasion? Doves symbolize
peace, tranquility, harmony, and innocence. In particular, to release
white doves on your wedding day it symbolizes love, loyalty and friendships.
It may also represent a message and blessing from the Holy Spirit.

you release white pigeons or doves? White mourning doves are heavily
domesticated and will not survive in the wild. Additionally, mourning
doves do not have homing ability, and this does not make them suitable
for releasing at outdoor events. This is why pure white homing pigeons
are our release birds of choice. A homing pigeon has strong homing
ability and finds its way home after it is released. |

How
are the birds released? Our birds can be released in many different
ways. We encourage baskets releases, but upon request hand releases
are available. Most often we will suggest a release approach that
will be comfortable and appropriate for you.

How
do they know how to fly home? Homing pigeons have powerful natural
abilities. One of them is the instinct to come back to the home loft.
This instinct is legendary, but science has never conclusively proven
how it works. |

How
far can they fly? Healthy and fit homing pigeons can fly hundreds
of miles. Our birds have come home from over 100 miles. However,
we have identified a much smaller area in central Connecticut (see
our service map) that is ideal for us. We call it our service area.

Will
they make a mess on me? Although, we cannot predict the behavior
of a live animal we at Birds in White have never had a messy accident.
We strongly believe that our success in this area is due to carefully
monitored feed intake and allowing the birds a good bio break prior
of bringing them to your special occasion. |

What
if it rains? A little rain will not harm the birds. However, we
will gladly refund your money if we encounter very stormy conditions
on the day of the release. |
|
| Can
Birds in White provide doves display at our reception? Yes, we
can. We will design a display that is right for you and will place
it at the reception location before you arrive. This is a big hit
with your guests and always brings harmony and joy to the occasion.
